Our passion is to contribute to the development of musicianship in young children by "Connecting the Art of the Music with the Heart of the Child." In our "Jump for Joy Style" we bring everything that is music: rhythm, melody, harmony, form, dynamic, tempo and the expressive qualities of music... to children through their worlds of fantasy and naturalistic play.

In every class children have opportunities to create their own music with over 50 instruments chosen from our rich instrument collection. We offer an eclectic blend of music in our classes that crosses cultures and genres. This allows our students to appreciate and absorb music from the songs they already know to music from around the world, along with some of our signature pieces as well.

MUSIC FOR CHILDREN classes are highly hands-on and movement intensive. They are always dynamic, energetic, interactive and playful. Toddlers and young children improve social, cognitive, linguistic and movement abilities in an environment that allows for an exciting and often novel bonding experience with their parent or caregiver. For all ages the program fosters a slew of qualities and abilities including creativity, confidence, self-expression, focus as well as a lifelong understanding and love of music. School band and orchestra directors, piano teachers, vocal coaches, and dance instructors say again and again that the students who come to them after participating in MUSIC FOR CHILDREN programs learn faster and perform at a higher level than non-participating peers.

Piano lessons begin at age four and recorder at age six. Children learn to read music and are instilled with a sense of rhythm that permeates their lives. Books and CD's are included in many of the levels. Seven through twelve year olds also study musical theater and put on a show at the end of the year.

All classes feature live guitar and piano and are taught by highly skilled musicians and early childhood educators.
They are specially trained by Mary Ann Hall who has been successfully running this program for over 30 years.
MUSIC FOR CHILDREN was the nation's first early child music program and continues to be a highly regarded program in the early childhood education community. Their programs have been featured over and over at the Music Educators' National Conference, among others.

Mary Ann Hall's MUSIC FOR CHILDREN enables children to discover, develop and celebrate their own individual talent.
We focus on your child as the primary instrument through which the music flows and grows.

Our Mission Statement

  • to rescue music from an isolated and insulated place and to dance music into our everyday experience
  • to develop musicianship and a lifelong enjoyment of music by Connecting the Art of the music with the Heart of the child
  • to share the "Why", the "How", and the "Wow" of developing the young child's musical intelligence by connecting with music educators, early childhood educators and parents.

Ever flowing, ever growing.
